DURHAM — It may become harder to find hard-to-find foreign and art videos in Durham.
The historic North Carolina Theatre's video library is closing next week. Included in its inventory of 4,000 titles are many rare and out-of-print titles.
The Durham County Library may pick up the collection, but that will take $25,000 that the library would have to raise. Several other offers to take over the collection are also being considered.
The shop's owner says a final decision will be made by mid-July. But for now, next Wednesday will be the last day to rent movies and June 30 the last day for returns.
The Carolina Theatre video library has 4,500 members.
