RALEIGH, N.C. — A manager of an area

Carolina Ale House

was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, but not before struggling with the suspect for a gun, Raleigh police said.

According to police, a manager was leaving the restaurant at 7981 Skyland Ridge Parkway at about 3:45 a.m. when he was approached by a man wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun.

The gunman ordered the manager into a car and drove the victim around for a while, police said. At one point, there was a struggle in the car and the manager tried to grab the gun from the gunman, police said.

During the struggle, the gun fired in the car, but no one was hit.

The gunman and manager then returned to the bar where the manager was tied up and the gunman took an unknown amount of money, police said.

Authorities said the manager was able to free himself and then called police.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants leaving after committing the crimes. The restaurant manager described the robber as a black male with a thin build standing at about 5 feet 10 inches.
