FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man whose baby fell from a sport utility during a police chase pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges.

Police say Isaac Godfrey was trying to avoid police when he jumped out of the passenger's side of a vehicle driven by his grandmother.

Police say the baby fell out the open door afterwards and later died.

A judge sentenced Godfrey to up to 33 months in prison. He also pleaded guilty to a pair of burglary charges.
