North Carolina State Graduates Receive Their Diplomas Saturday

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Graduation day is filled with pride and promise for graduates and their families. Saturday, North Carolina State sent thousands of new graduates into the Triangle job market.

The young graduates took their first steps into the "real world" Saturday morning. Commencement speaker geographer Harm de Blij (duh blay) helped point them in the right direction.

Family and friends filled the arena to cheer them on. After years of homework and tests, N.C. State's newest alums got to turn their tassles.

You do not have to look for caps and gowns to spot the new graduates. Just look for the grins.

Some of the graduates are struggling to find work. An N.C. State expert says recruiting has slowed down recently, and he is worried that fall graduates might also have trouble finding work.

Students at UNC Chapel Hill will be getting their diplomas tomorrow. The graduation will be held at Kenan Stadium tomorrow morning at 9:30.
