More Hispanics Moving To N.C., Rural Areas

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — More Hispanics are bypassing major cities and moving to smaller states. A study released Tuesday shows fewer Hispanics are looking for work in major U.S. cities, and more are heading for states like Tennessee and North Carolina.

The study found that in four years, Raleigh's Hispanic population grew 40 percent. The same goes for Charlotte, Nashville and Atlanta. The Brookings Institution commissioned the report.
