Water Main Break Sends Water Shooting High into the Air

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — A water main break caused traffic problems in north Raleigh Friday morning.

A truck ran over a fire hydrant at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Singleton Industrial Drive around 2 a.m.

At one point, the water was shooting as high as 50 feet into the air, flooding the intersection.

The problem has been fixed, and roads were reopened to traffic before noon.
