RALEIGH — You can bring your old cell phone to the2000 N.C. State Fair, and in the process, help save a life.
Wake County sheriff's deputies are collecting cell phones to give to domestic violence victims.
The phones will go to a company in Michigan that reprograms them and then ships them to domestic violence groups across the country.
By reprogramming the phones, they would only be able to be used for emergencies.
