Volunteers Continue To Search For Missing Sampson County Boy

Hundreds of volunteers are looking for Triston "Buddy" Myers. He disappeared Thursday afternoon, along with his two dogs, Sasha and Buck, near the town of Roseboro.

Planes and ground crews surveyed the area where Myers was last seen. Many of the volunteers have been searching since the boy was first reported missing, but they say they refuse to give up hope.

"A lot of people do not want to find out that a four-year-old kid has passed away," says Jason Nesbit, a member of the Harnett County Search and Rescue Team. "We would like to see him grow up so he can do what he wants to do."

Volunteer Nancy Hall says she is not giving up hope for Myers' safe return.

"I'm not losing hope. God is watching out for that baby wherever he is at. If we don't find him, somebody will," she says.

The search has been expanded to a five-mile radius around Roseboro. On Saturday, water rescue teams searched a lake south of the town.

Myers had been staying with his aunt and uncle. For them, they say it has been an agonizing nightmare, but they are grateful to the community for all of their help.

"With all of these volunteers doing what they are doing, we just appreciate everything that everybody is doing for us," says John Myers, Buddy's uncle.

Although the weather has been clear and sunny, temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-50s for the next two nights.
