Ramsey Attorney Wants Couple Cleared, Prosecutor Says It's Not His Job

Posted Updated

(AP) — The prosecutor investigating the death of JonBenet Ramsey says it's not his job to say the girl's parents are innocent.

Michael Kane tells the morning T-V talk shows that his purpose is not to clear anyone -- it's to find out who killed the six-year-old girl.

And Kane says there are a lot of questions that need to be answered about the 1996 murder.

Kane was part of the investigative team from Boulder, Colorado, who questioned John and Patsy Ramsey for ten hours over two days.

After the interview sessions concluded yesterday, the Ramseys publicly pleaded with authorities to clear them of suspicion in their daughter's murder.

The Ramseys' attorney, Lin Wood, is calling on Boulder authorities to clear the couple within weeks.
