Congress Considering Bill to Help Ease Overcrowding in Triangle Classrooms

Posted Updated

CARY — A new report shows some young students are not getting as much out of the classroom as possible.

According to a congressional report, more than nine out of 10 kindergarten through third-grade classrooms in the Triangle are overcrowded.

North Carolina congressmen David Price and Bob Etheridge released the report Tuesday during a visit to Cary.

Congress is considering two bills to help schools. One would provide $25 billion nationally to build more classrooms; the other would help school systems attract better teachers.
