FAYETTEVILLE — A local crime prevention program is getting national attention for keeping criminals off the streets.

Fayetteville police Sergeant Steve McIntosh has won theMac Gray Awardfor crime prevention. He beat out other officers from departments across the country.

For the last three years, CPTV has been McIntosh's project. It is a television program that deals with crime trends in the community and offers tips on how to be safe.

"Everything we do in here is crime prevention. We're trying to prevent crime and stop it," he says.

McIntosh will go to Washington D.C. next month to receive his award.
