DURHAM — A man who pretended to be a police officer over the weekend is now a real inmate.
Thomas Hook was arrested by Duke University police after he posed as a Greensboro officer at Duke University Hospital.
When hospital staff called Greensboro Police to pick him up, officers said they had never heard of the patient.
Duke police say Hook had a real badge, a gun, handcuffs and had even transformed his car into a realistic cruiser.
Hook is being held under $250,000 bond.
