FAYETTEVILLE — An expectant mother is in critical condition following a car crash in Fayetteville.
Anna Spurlock was trying to cross Reilly Road Monday night when her car was hit by a truck.
Spurlock, who is nearly five-months pregnant, has a severe head injury. Doctors say her baby has a strong heartbeat and is doing well.
Her new husband, Sterlin Spurlock, is staying upbeat.
"I love my wife very much. When she gets better, I'll get better," he says. "I'll walk out with her four months from now, and a little pride and joy will walk out with us, too. So everything is going to be cool."
Investigators say Spurlock may have been at fault in the crash.
