Fayetteville Pedestrian Survives Hit-and-Run

FAYETTEVILLE — Police say a drunk driver ran down a man in Fayetteville early Sunday morning.

The victim, 45-year-old Kirby Bell, is in stable condition at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Police say a white pickup truck hit the man at the intersection of Raeford Road and Putte Williams.

Officers witnessed the accident, and pulled over the truck about half a mile down the road.

They arrested the driver, 34-year-old Ronald Tanner of Autryville.

He is charged with felony hit-and-run and driving while intoxicated.
