CHAPEL HILL — Chapel Hill has put a price tag on the damage from this week's heavy rain and flooding.
A swollen creek caused major damage at the Eastgate Shopping Center. Flooding at the Camelot Village apartments also left many people homeless.
Officials estimate flooding did more than $6 million in damage to businesses and caused $1 million in economic losses. Homes and apartments suffered about $1 million in damage.
The total bill comes to $8.3 million.
