HURDLE MILLS — State and federal officials have put a cork in a bootleg whiskey operation in Person County.
They found nearly 600 gallons of moonshine bottled up and ready to go at a still in Hurdle Mills.
Officials say they made their move just before the illegal liquor was to be sold.
Agents had been staking out the illegal operations for weeks. They have not arrested anyone, but say they expect to make several arrests soon.
