<b>DURHAM</b> — Despite complaints from the people who live there, a part of Hope Valley Road in Durham will be closed to traffic starting Monday.

Hope Valley Road will be closed at the Archdale Drive intersection, affecting traffic from Reynolds Avenue to St. Andrews Court.

Detour signs will direct drivers onto Buckingham Avenue and Dixon Road, but city engineers advise motorists to avoid Hope Valley Road.

The road will be closed for two to three months so engineers can build the interchange with the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
