TheCary Town Councilapproved a plan Wednesday that will send $3.7 million to schools that Cary students attend.
The plan to set up a non-profit foundation did not meet much opposition with a 6-1 vote. The lone holdout, Jesse Ward, wanted the money to go back to the taxpayers.
"It's the people's money. We're just servants. That's the important thing," Ward says. "The problem I have with this council is that if you leave that money with them, they're going to find a way to spend it and still end up with no money."
The council will work out the details of the school funding plan next Wednesday during a public hearing. -->
