FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Cumberland County high school student charged with taking a gun onto a school campus was expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
Deputies arrested Lamar Teriek Hagood, 16, of Fayetteville, Monday at Westover High School and charged him with bringing a weapon on to school property.
A group of concerned students alerted school officials, investigators said, after seeing Hagood with what appeared to be a handgun on campus.
Hagood, who is being charged as an adult, was placed in the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was being held under a $1,000 secured bond.
