Police in Rocky Mount say one man has died after a shootout near a basketball court last night. He was identified as Dwayne Crudup.
Authorities say four people were shot at Holly Street Park around nine-45. The victims ranged in age from 19 years old to their early 20s. All four were taken to Nash General Hospital, where Crudup was pronounced dead.
Two victims were treated for injuries and released. Another shooting victim, apparently a suspect in the shooting, remains in the hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Police said the motive was an alleged domestic dispute involving one of the victim's girlfriends.
