Sludge In N. Raleigh Creek To Be Recycled

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A long-term solution is being proposed to deal with chemicals found in a North Raleigh Creek.

Neighbors are concerned about a white sludge and green algae that have covered the creek bed behind the city's water treatment plant. On Tuesday, Raleigh's public utilities director says the plant will no longer dump processed water into the creek, but recycled. The necessary upgrades will cost about $3 million.
