Odometer Tampering On the Rise

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — An old used-car scam is making a comeback and costing consumers thousands of dollars.

The National Highway Safety Administration says odometer tampering has doubled since last year. Local mechanics say rolling back the odometer is not tough to do, and it is often easy to spot.
