WENDELL — Rain and wet roads were probably responsible for a deadly head-on collision Monday night between Zebulon and Wendell.
Christine We-Renko died when the car she was driving crossed the center line and struck the car of Mark Vanister. He was also killed.
A third car was involved in the wreck. The driver of that vehicle sustained only minor injuries.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Route 96 and Lizard Lick Road
