Two cars were involved in a minor accident on the interstate, near its intersection with I-40. Both drivers pulled off the road, but the driver of the second car did not position his vehicle entirely out of the roadway.
A third car came upon the scene, and hit the protruding car. That sent both initial vehicles 75 feet down the pavement, where they came to rest in the roadway.
Then a fourth car hit the third car head on.
The two occupants of the third car were killed. Four others were injured.
The driver of the car that didn't pull completely off the roadway has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle
