Charges against a Wake Forest teenager, in connection with the shooting death of his friend, have been changed from Involuntary to voluntary manslaughter.

Police say 17-year-old David Craycraft shot and killed his good friend Morgan Campbell, 18, Tuesday night while the two were playing with guns in Craycraft's home. His parents were not home at the time.

State law describes Voluntary manslaughter as an intentional act committed without malice and involuntary manslaughter as an unintentional act.

Authorities did not say why the charge was changed.

Craycraft has been released to the custody of his parents and will be under a 6 p.m. curfew daily.

Police say additional charges could be filed relating to improper storage of weapons
