Fundraiser for Tornado Victims Exceeds Goal

While the movie "Twister" cleans up at the box office, victims of arealtornado in Zebulon will get some help with their ongoing clean-up efforts.

A fundraising event held over the weekend used volunteers efforts and donated goods and services to raise money for disaster relief.

Organizers had hoped to raise $100,000, but Monday morning they said the event brought in more than double that amount. An exact tally was not yet available.

All the money raised will go those in Zebulon, Pilot, Wendell and surrounding counties who lost property during the April tornadoes
