  • If you have a computer equipped with RealAudio software, a sound card and speakers, you can "virtually" attend the Forum. WRAL OnLine has live audio from the forum through its conclusion Tuesday at 2:45 p.m.

This year's forum is entitled "The Knowledge Explosion: What's the Payoff for Americans?", and features, in addition to Gore, speakers such as U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley, BellSouth CEO John Clendenin, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Hedrick Smith, and Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund.

The forum was designed to examine how rapid advances in technology can best be used to improve business, education and society in general.

Speakers are addressing topics such as understanding new technology, overcoming the feeling of being overwhelmed by it, and life-long education as a means of keeping up with the changes
