FAYETTEVILLE — April 6, 1996 - 12:01 p.m. EST

Hundreds of candles illuminated the grounds at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery Friday night.

The cemetery places luminaries throughout the grounds as part of a Good Friday remembrance effort. This is the fourth year it's been done.

Relatives of those buried in the cemetery simply call to make a memorial request, and a luminary candle bearing the deceased person's name is lit at no charge.

Last year more than 1500 people drove through the cemetery to see the candles
