SBI To Investigate Clayton Police

Posted Updated

CLAYTON — March 29, 1996 - 3:25 p.m. EST

The State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct within the Clayton Police Department.

Two women say that three officers made unwanted sexual advances toward them last October. Earlier this week, Clayton town officials said there was no need for criminal charges.

The Johnston County District Attorney and the Sheriff's Department asked the SBI to step in.

Town Manager Ralph Clark says he supports that request
