The $100 kit fromViewCastincludes a universal serial bus video capture cable and a CD-ROM which contains the software needed to capture, edit and put video on the Web."Your Video on the Web"also comes with a very thorough and clear instruction manual.
To try it out, Tom used his camcorder to tape Mark Roberts at a computer. Users can transfer video from a camera, a VCR, even a DVD.
After recording his video,Tom hooked up the USB capture cable, loaded the software and went to work.
With MGI's VideoWave II, Tom edited a short piece of tape by following the instructions and using the intuitive on-screen controls.
Titling is included, with various fonts and colors. You can evenadd special effects.
Afterloading the clip into the RealProducer software, Tom is ready to put Mark on the Web.
"Once it's on your PC, you then actually place the video on our Web site, and our Web site offers that service for you for free," says marketing director Doug Schiff.
Users can download their home video using the same software.
The software is a great way to communicate with family members using video and sound. Users can give relatives and friends a password so they can view it. Without the password, no one can watch.
