Denise Brown to Speak at NCSU

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — February 12, 1996, 3:50 p.m. EST

In the wake of her sister's murder 20 months ago, Denise Brown has been crisscrossing the country to discuss domestic violence. Tonight she speaks at Stewart Theatre on the NC State University campus.

Tickets for her speech were free; all have been distributed.

While she has made clear her belief that her sister Nicole and Ron Goldman were murdered by O.J. Simpson, who was found not guilty of the charges, her talks don't focus on the crime. Instead, she campaigns against domestic violence and discusses its effects not only on spouses but on the children.

She will be paid $5,000 for tonight's speech, which will be directed to a foundation she and others have created to speak out against family violence.
