Caison was named to the all Three-Rivers conference team last football season and led the team in receptions. At 6 feet 4 inches, 200 pounds, he will start for the Leopards at tight end and defensive end.
Caison plays football, basketball and baseball for the school. Lakewood football coach James Lewis says Caison is one of the most-driven student athletes that he has ever had.
"Chris is a leader on our team. He comes to practice every day and works hard," he says. "He has a great set of hands. He is our go-to guy in the clutch. He's an integral part of the team on both sides of the football."
Caison, who is also the student body president at Lakewood High, ranks second in his class. He is also a Morehead Scholarship nominee who attended the Governor's School over the summer. He says he realizes how important a high school education can be.
"I don't plan to participate in sports at the next level, and education is the key, so why not go for it?" he says. "I feel like I need to get the best education while I am here."
Lakewood teacher Jennifer Avant says Caison has both intelligence and character.
"He is a strong student -- a very, very smart kid, but my favorite thing about him is that he has integrity," says Lakewood teacher Jennifer Avant. "He is just a good person."
