CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — One of five teens who face first-degree rape charges in connection with a Chapel Hill incident was taken back into custody Monday on a charge of discharging a firearm inside town limits.
Town police said they arrested Brian Gregory Minton, 16, of Marin Drive after they received a call that he had fired a gun. They found a shotgun in his home, they said.
Minton was held in the Orange County Jail in Hillsborough pending a bond decision on Tuesday. Authorities had released him Thursday on an unsecured $200,000 bond.
Minton was one of four teenagers released last week. They and a fifth teen who had been released earlier are accused of raping a 16-year-old Chapel Hill girl Sept. 2 in Southern Village.
