While the Panthers continue to go through their pre-season paces, their future has already been determined, sort of. The newsstands are full of football preview issues, and we warn you that none of them even have the Panthers making the playoffs.
"Most of these guys have never played a snap in their life, so that pretty much says how I feel about it," Panthers Defensive Back Eric Davis said.
"NFL Kickoff," the official NFL magazine, has the Panthers ranked lowest, third in the NFC West. All of the other magazines have the Panthers ranked second behind the 49ers.
"I think it doesn't help us, inspire us or put any pressure on us. It's just something that probably helps sell magazines," said Wesley Wall, Panthers Tight End.
Of course, if nobody pays attention to the magazines, then how come everyone seems to know where the Panthers are picked? It certainly seems that some players are catching up on their summer reading. Reporter/PhotographerJim Noble
