The Food Bank has been one of the most important places in the state since Floyd came through.
The group has given out 700,000 pounds of food in just the last four days; that's as much food as they typically send out in a month.
They have also had more than 1,000 people show up to volunteer -- that's how many they usually get in a year.
But they are not done yet.
"We could wipe out this entire warehouse in a space of 48 hours, so we really need more donations and help to get more to the community," says volunteer Dana Lindquist.
You can take donations to 3808 Tarheel Drive, off of Wake Forest Road in Raleigh. To volunteer, call(919) 875-0707.
The Food Bank serves 34 counties in eastern and central North Carolina -- almost half of those counties are among the hardest hit areas of the state.
