Pinehurst Man Surrenders in Moore Slaying

A second individual has been arrested and charged in connection with the slaying of a Moore County man.

CARTHAGE, N.C. — A Pinehurst man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a Moore County man.

Albert Devonte Brown, 26, of 240 Brookside Road, surrendered to authorities at around 10 a.m.. Investigators said he was involved in the death of Jonathan Elee Grice earlier in May.

Jessica Denise White, Grice's girlfriend, has also been charged with murder. Authorities said White killed Grice before wrapping his body in a car cover and dragging him to a trash pile behind the house.

Investigators found Grice's body, along with charred furniture and clothes, on May 24. Autopsy results state he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Brown, whom authorities said was also a boyfriend of White, was charged with murder, one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He is being held without bond in the Moore County Detention Center, and his first court appearance is scheduled for June 4.
