Authorities Identify Pair Found Dead in Knightdale

Investigators are trying to figure out how two people ended up dead in a Knightdale mobile home.

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — Investigators are trying to figure out how two people ended up dead in a Knightdale mobile home.

When Wake County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at 2141 Marks Creek Road in Knightdale at around 7:40 a.m. Sunday, they found the homeowner, Brady Andrew Marsh, 77, and Cynthia Anna Ennis, 47, of Trudy Lane in Garner, dead inside.

Investigators said it appeared the pair had been dead for more than a day. Neighbors said Marsh lived alone and Ennis visited frequently. Preliminary signs pointed to a relationship that came to a violent end, investigators said.

“There are no suspects in this case. Of course, at this time, we believe it’s contained in the trailer right now,” said Operations Chief Richard Johnson of the sheriff’s office.

Those who knew Marsh said violence contradicted their image of him.

“He’s a fine fella, seemed to be a likeable gentleman, too,” said neighbor James Collins.

Ruth Buell had similar memories of her neighbor.

“He always had a big garden every year and sold vegetables to all the neighbors – gave a lot them away,” she said. “He was good to everybody in the neighborhood.”

That’s why Buell said she went to check on Marsh Sunday morning and discovered both people dead.

“I’ve never seen anything like this before, and I certainly hope never (to) again,” she said.

The cause of the deaths is not yet known.
