DURHAM — Crews have been cleaning up after a garbage truck overturned on Highway 54 in Durham around 11 a.m.

Authorities say the driver of the truck was speeding and did not see a construction worker in the road with a stop sign.

Authorities say the truck swerved to avoid hitting the man and overturned.

No one was hurt, but police say the driver will be charged.

Road construction will close two southbound lanes of the Durham Freeway from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The construction zone runs from the Interstate 85 interchange to the 15-501 Bypass.

The road will be resurfaced to correct a dip in the pavement.
