Sheriff Peter White said deputies took Reuben Cooper into custody late Thursday morning at a house off Vicksboro Road. They charged Cooper with first-degree kidnapping, larceny from a person and misdemeanor escape, White said.
Cooper had "a considerable amount of assistance in hiding as he was pursued, encompassing various residences in Vance County," White said.
Authorities had recaptured Shearin and Harris a couple of hours after the escape.
The inmates were being held on charges ranging from drug possession to possession of a firearm by a felon and communicating threats.
After his arrest Thursday, Cooper was held in the state's Polk Correctional Institution in Butner.
