HALIFAX COUNTY — Gunfire erupted inside the Halifax County Courthouse on Thursday as deputies pulled their weapons and fired at a convicted felon.
The Sheriff's Department say the felon tried to attack deputies with a box cutter.
The felon tried to get away, but deputies cornered him. The man lunged at the deputies again, and one deputy shot him in the leg.
The felon was taken to the hospital. Sheriff officials say he is going to be OK. -->
