RALEIGH — North Carolina's Health and Human Services secretary faced angry parents Friday. Those parents say they are still not getting their child support.

David Bruton met with parents and talked to others over a speaker phone. He vowed to correct the problems and help clients pay to re-connect utilities that have been shut off as a result of the problems created by a new centralized collection and distribution system.

In a heated exchange, parents called for a shutdown of the system, but Bruton says they are making progress.

DHHS has added more phone lines, computers, and people to answer questions. They say they will keep working at the problems until everyone has his or her money.
