Early Morning Fire Forces Residents from Raleigh Apartments

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — An apartment fire forced 10 people from their homes early Friday morning.

The blaze broke out around 1 a.m. at the Heritage Apartments on Dorothea Drive.

Flames and smoke damaged two units. The fire caused structural damage to the building, so all four of the building's units had to be evacuated.

Everyone got out safely, thanks to a smoke detector.

Investigators believe the fire was accidental.
