DURHAM — Durham police continue to investigate a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a train.
AnAmtrakpassenger train struck an individual near the intersection of Angier Avenue and Carter Street at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The accident occurred in a train yard in east Durham, just as the train was pulling away from the station. Officials believe the person was lying on the tracks.
Police are working to identify the victim.
Officials say 74 people were on board the train, which was headed north. Its next stop was Raleigh. No one else was injured. -->
