Sixth- and seventh-graders from Toisnot Middle School were among the first to experience the Mission 2000 International Space Station Exhibit.
The students started their tour with a brief history lesson on space travel, then viewed living areas including space sleeping bags that were attached to the wall. The students also viewed a space shower and bathroom.

"This is the first time NASA has taken these trailers anywhere," says Beth Greenwaldt of Newspapers in Education. "We're very excited they came to Wilson first. This is something the kids can remember for the rest of their lives, and something we can remember the rest of our lives."
Sixth-grader Brandon Cheatham says he can see himself working in space a few years from now.
"Because it seems like technology is one of the ways to get past in life, even though you have to work hard for it," Cheatham says.
The public can visit the exhibit Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is free.
