Wake School Board Postpones Reassignment Decision

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — The Wake County School Board did not approve a final reassignment proposal at its meeting Monday night. However the board voted to continue its discussion Tuesday night. There is a Wednesday meeting, too.

Hundreds of parents from all over the county offered alternatives to the current plan atthree public hearings last Monday.

The school board was supposed to vote on the plan Monday. Instead, the board discussed more of the suggestions from parents in a committee meeting.

The proposal moves 6,000 students to different schools. The board is trying to make an April deadline.
