RALEIGH — Some homeowners are bound to have a shock when they see what has happened to their residence. Its attic was converted to an impromptu sunroom Sunday morning.

Some men were moving the house to a new location, and things seemed to be rolling along smoothly when they approached South Saunders Street and the Raleigh Beltline about 11 a.m. Sunday.

They had the requisite permits to make the move and, according to Raleigh police, the men had measured everything ahead of time.

However, as they approached the overpass, they realized their cargo -- the house -- would not fit.

So they stopped, got out their chainsaws and purposely sheared off the roof.

The house fit.

Their "cutting up" tied up traffic for about 45 minutes.

No charges will be filed.
