Monday morning, Wake County District Attorney Colin Willoughby presented his case to grand jury for the indictment of Glover, 26, who was being held on second-degree kidnapping charges in the disappearance of his stepson.
Willoughby had until 5 p.m. to move the case against Glover forward, or let him go. At 10:45 a.m., the grand jury decided there is enough information to take Glover to court.
Glover has not said a word to authorities about where C.J. might be. The boy has not been seen or heard from since Jan. 12.
"We felt like the evidence warranted the grand jury taking this action, so we're pleased, says Willoughby, who upped Glover's charge from second-degree to first-degree kidnapping. The reason: Willoughby fears that once C.J. is found, he will not be alive.
"At this point we don't think he's been released in a safe place because we haven't found him. So we felt like the evidence warranted first-degree," says Willoughby.
Glover is being held in the Wake County jail on $1 million bond.
A court date is expected to be scheduled in the next 45 to 60 days.
