Friday is now a WRAL Weather Alert Day. Parts of Hoke, Cumberland and Sampson counties are under a level 2 risk for storms Friday afternoon and evening. The biggest threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in our southern counties. The storms are expected to impact these areas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

<b>WARREN</b> — A Warren County principal was charged with DWI on May 4. Her school district has taken no action against her at this time.

Wanda Hunt, principal of Northside Elementary School, was charged with DWI and careless and reckless driving, according to the Warren County clerk of court.

Hunt's arrest is under investigation by the school board, which will determine if any action is warranted, according to school spokesman Patrick Draffin.

Hunt's first court appearance is scheduled for July 11.
