Posted Updated

SILER CITY, N.C. — At least 5,000 pounds of marijuana is in police custody after an early morning drug bust in Siler City.

Two men were arrested at a home on Wade Pascal Road. Officials say the house was being used as a distribution center. Authorities say from that house, the drug dealers planned to send the drugs to surrounding counties, including Wake.

The marijuana was hidden in cement blocks, and in a secret underground room at the house. The street value of the pot: $5 million.

Chatham County deputies say the FBI and the Siler City Police Department were involved in the investigation.

Officials say it could be the biggest bust in the state.
