Postal Carriers trudged through all of the elements Tuesday to get priority and first class mail delivered.
The main Post Office in downtown Raleigh was empty early in the day, the service window was closed and the mail trucks were buried under snow. Carriers will be back on their routes Wednesday.
The people who deliver your morning paper also had a tough run at it.
Many local papers did not get papers to customers or news stands Tuesday.
The staff at theNews and Observerare pulling double and triple duty to get the news out.
The paper says it is working to get Wednesday's edition to doorsteps, but will drop off papers on neighborhood street corners if subdivision roads are too tough to get down.
